New Medicare Card Scams on the Rise

Have you received any calls from “Medicare” asking you to verify your Medicare number for the new card being sent your way?

This may be a scam.

Medicare fraud and abuse can happen anywhere. It’s important that you protect your Medicare number and other personal information, and check your Medicare claims regularly so you don’t become a victim.

To help spot and prevent Medicare fraud and abuse:

● Unsolicited calls from someone claiming to be from Medicare.

● Anyone needing your information so that they can send you an updated Medicare card.

● Anyone claiming that your card is expiring and that you will be charged a fine if you do not get a new one.

● Anyone stating that Medicare is issuing new cards and you need to verify your number.

Remember to ALWAYS verify whom you ae speaking to and If you suspect fraud call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or online.

Stay Safe!
